Windsurfing

Being a follower of Jesus is a bit like windsurfing.

A windsurfer needs:

1.  A FIRM PLACE TO STAND

“He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand”  (Ps 40 v 2)

“The rain came down, the streams rose and the winds blew and beat against that house but it did not fall because it had its foundation on the rock”  (Matt 7 v 25)

2.  THE RIGHT GEAR TO WEAR

“Jonathan took off his robe he was wearing and gave it to David, along with his tunic, and even his sword, his bow and his belt”.   (1 Sam 18 v 4)

“He has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness” (Isaiah 61 v 10)

“All of you who were baptised into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ”. (Galatians 3 v 27)

3.   THE STRONG POWER TO GO

“He rides on the wings of the wind.  He makes winds His messengers, flames of fire His servants.”  (Ps 104 v 4)

“a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from Heaven”. (Acts 2 v 2)
